1. Geocaching Proving Trail - Deister, Hannover

This proving trail offers multiple cache series with different difficulty levels. Starting point for some series is the train station of Barsinghausen at the Deister, allowing you to complete these series without using a car. The caches of the XL series are spread ed all over the Hannover Region.

There is a Proving Trail Geocoin in two sizes, both feature the "vegvisir" on the back, an ancient Viking compass rose. The big one is available in gold, silver and bronze and one can only get it, if it was "earned". This can be done by either completing/finding a certain number of caches of a series or by helping with the cache hide. The smaller version is freely available and has an antique copper finish.

CacheZone sponsors 100 Geocoin sets consisting of a big and a small Geocoin (both with the same tracking number) in a blue velvet box. These sets are given to the most active participants (finding or hiding) of the proving trail. These 100 sets were handed out in 2008

Current qualification 2009

CacheZone has further sets to give a way. Particpants must have their own geocaching.com account and live at least 30km away from Barsinghausen to qualify for particpation. Qualifiying particpants who find 12 or more Geocaches of the proving trail within 48 hours may claim a free Geocoin set. Only valid while supply lasts. Must be picked up in person at CacheZone, Bahnhofstr 17, 30890 Barsinghausen.
